Cauliflower is such a delicious vegetable, and we just love the bright flavour of this soup which combines both cooked and fresh caulflower and some delicate and fragrant spices. Cauliflower tends to get overcooked all the time, releasing a sulforous smell which can be a bit unappealing. Make sure you cook it till it’s just tender.

Footy season is now in full swing so why not ask a few friends around to watch the game and show off your cooking skills. This is a tasty twist on the humble hotdog. The addition of the chilli beef gives it a bit a heat, the salsa keeps it fresh and grated parmesan is the perfect cheesy topping. We love Mexican food, and it can be unhealthy if you overload on the cheese and sour cream… but the truth is, in Mexico the food is actually very fresh, light and healthy. Luke and Scott from this years MKR did a great job with their chicken tacos in the food truck challenge, and we were invited to demonstrate this recipe . . . → Read More: Recipe: Chicken Tacos with Red Slaw and Spicy Yoghurt dressing, as seen on The Morning Show

During the war, the Anzac’s lived off some very basic rations. At times, rations were marginally more plentiful, and at other times they were very scarce.
The Anzac’s generally lived off tinned, salted and dried food. Quite common were Bully Beef (tinned corned beef), oats, plum jam, bread (so hard you had to break them with a bayonet!), and tea. . . . → Read More: Recipe: Anzac “Bully Beef” Sandwich, aka the Reuben, as seen on The Morning Show

For most people, autumn is usually a dreaded time of year, mainly because it the precursor to winter. But if you’re a mad foodie like we are, then autumn means mushrooms. We took Maeve O’Meara from SBS food safari on a Polish safari – to the pine forests of NSW’s southern highlands.
Mushroom foraging is a deeply rooted Polish tradition, and goes . . . → Read More: Recipe: Pine Mushrooms on Toast, for SBS Food Safari with Maeve O’Meara

Although Christmas has loads of traditional dishes, Easter is a little more restricted (but equally as delicious) with endless supplies of hot cross buns and chocolate bunnies and eggs.
Sometimes, it’s hard to get creative, but we’ve found inspiration in an article we read about a gentleman’s bet amongst Sydney’s top pub chefs. It’s all about the “hot cross bun burger” (http://www.goodfood.com.au/good-food/eat-out/chefs-start-a-hot-cross-bunfight-20130323-2gm22.html).

Have you heard of Australian Meat Free week? It’s all about raising awareness of factory farming of animals. We were shocked to learn that Australians are the 2nd biggest consumers of meat in the world, and it gave us some inspiration for a delicious vegetarian dish. This Sunday is St Patricks Day! We’re celebrating with a hearty and delicious Irish pie…
The Irish get a bit of a bad wrap for their food – but there are so many delicious heart warming recipes to choose from. We just love anything with black pudding, and salivate over colcannon – a side of mashed potato mixed with healthy kale.

Last weeks chicken challenge on MKR was tough! It seems like the judging came down to how well the chicken itself was cooked. Mick and Matt struggled to make their chicken shine as the hero of the dish, while Angela and Melina’s chicken was dry. We really feel for the girls, as chicken breast is notorious for drying out and it . . . → Read More: Recipe: Pancetta Wrapped Chicken with Watercress Pesto, as seen on Sunrise

Sometimes Mexican food gets a bad wrap for being unhealthy – but these fish tacos (from the Baja region, not far from California) are light, healthy and deliciously moorish. You can use any firm fleshed white fish with a stronger flavour that can stand up to the spices. Try kingfish, bonito, mackerel, or mahi mahi.
